KGS Custom Building LLC

Custom systems,
cut to the room —
Fitted by hand.

KGS Custom Building LLC builds integrated systems for studios, offices and industrial floors, and it builds them the way a joinery workshop builds furniture: measured, scribed, dry-fitted and finished by hand. This page sets out the six services that leave the Cedar City bench at 1171 S 4425 W, Cedar City - 84720-6254, United States (US). Book bench time

The Six Bench Disciplines

What KGS Custom Building LLC builds

Each service below is a separate bench discipline, but they are rarely ordered alone. Most fit-outs lean on three or four of them at once, which is exactly why they all come from the same hand and the same set of measurements.

Custom Integration Racks

A custom integration rack is the spine of a technical room, and it is where a hasty build shows fastest. KGS Custom Building LLC cuts each rack to the depth and rail spacing the hardware actually requires, then hand-dresses the cable runs so the rear of the rack reads as clean as the front. We allow for future equipment rather than cramming today device into the last open unit, and we scribe the base to the floor so the frame sits flat even when the slab does not. Ventilation is planned, not improvised: air enters low, leaves high, and the panels that front the rack come off without tools.

Tailored Control Cabinets

Tailored control cabinets hold the switches, drivers, relays, power supplies and terminals that keep a system alive. We lay out every cabinet on the bench before a hole is drilled, mount the DIN rail by hand, and label each conductor in plain language that a future technician can follow. Because the enclosure is dimensioned for the equipment inside it, there is no dead space swallowing heat and no crowded corner where the wiring becomes a tangle. Doors are hung to swing clear, and the gland plate is cut to the cables that truly arrive.

Bespoke Machine Enclosures

Bespoke machine enclosures wrap working machines in a case shaped to their real quirks. We take the true dimensions at the machine, allow for vibration, heat and service access, and build the shell so a technician can reach every fastener without dismantling the whole assembly. Windows are set where operators need sight lines, guards are fitted where hands come close, and the frame is braced so it does not drum or rattle in use. The enclosure protects the machine and the people around it while still letting the machine be maintained on a normal working day.

Installation Woodwork

Installation woodwork is the finished surface between the system and the room. It covers capping and fascias, mounting plinths, cable chases, access panels and fitted trim that turn a technical installation into considered architecture. We match grain and tone to the surrounding joinery, scribe to walls that are rarely straight, and set the joints tight so the work reads as though it grew in place. Where a cable must disappear, it disappears behind a removable panel rather than into a permanent void.

Site Survey and Fit Planning

Site survey and fit planning begin before any material is purchased. We walk the space with you, record the obstructions and clearances, note the power and data routes, and measure the doorways and stairs that any large unit must pass through. The plan that follows says exactly what will be built, where it will sit and how it will be serviced, so there are no surprises on installation day. It is the least glamorous part of the work and the one that decides whether the finished job looks calm or improvised.

Finish and Hardware Packages

Finish and hardware packages are the final ten percent that many installers leave undone. We hang doors so they swing true, set catches and stops, fit brass and iron hardware built to wear, and finish every exposed edge by hand. Surfaces are sanded and sealed to suit the room, and fasteners are chosen to sit flush and stay put. A system that opens, closes and wears well is a system that lasts, and that is the standard the bench is held to.

KGS Custom Building LLC opens its winter fit-out window for studios, offices and industrial floors across Cedar City and the surrounding valleys, booking bench time for racks, cabinets, enclosures and finished woodwork.

How the work runs

The process behind every service

Whichever of the six services you need, the work moves through the same four stages. The stages do not change with the size of the job, because the habits that make a small enclosure square are the same habits that make a full rack room square.

1

Survey and measure

We read the room before we design anything: obstructions, clearances, service routes and the path any large unit must travel.

2

Draw and chalk

Each unit is drawn full size and chalked onto the bench wall so the plan, joints and hardware schedule are visible before cutting.

3

Cut, fit and assemble

Panels are cut to scribed lines, dry-fitted, then joined for good. Racks, cabinets and enclosures come off the bench square.

4

Install, finish and hand over

We install on site, fit trim and hardware, finish every edge, then walk you through the finished work and its service notes.

Talk to the bench about your fit-out

Send the room, the machine or the rough idea, and KGS Custom Building LLC will tell you plainly what can be built, how it will be finished and when it can be booked. A short conversation now saves a costly correction later.
